General Dentistry
At Lakeside Dental we offer all the general dentistry services you expect from examinations through to fillings and mouth guards.
Our general dentistry services include the following:
- Examinations (including Oral Cancer Screens)
- White Fillings
- Extractions
- Mouth Guards
Our fees are listed on our website and in our clinic.
If you pay PRSI contributions, you may be entitled to a Dental Exam, Scale & Polish, for only €15
PRSI workers can claim a free oral examination once a calendar year, as well as a subsidised scale & polish (cleaning) for €15.
*To qualify, you must have paid class A, E, P, H or S social insurance (PRSI) contributions. The amount of social insurance you need depends on your age*
To check if you qualify for treatment, call us on 047-81032. You will need to provide the following details:
- Personal Public Service (PPS) Number
- Date of birth
- Consent
Visiting your dentist at least once a year for a check-up is important to ensure that any issues are detected early, before they become bigger and often expensive problems. Regular cleaning of the teeth by a dental professional is also essential to remove plaque and tartar, both above and below the gumline, eliminating bacteria that lead to cavities, bad breath and gum disease.
Medical Card Patients Welcome
Adults (over 16 years of age) who have a valid medical card can access a range of dental services and treatments under the Dental Treatment Service Scheme.
All medical card holders are entitled to specific dental treatments e.g.,
- A dental examination
- Two fillings in each calendar year
- Extractions as necessary
- Scale and Polish
Some treatments such as the provision of dentures require the approval of the HSE before the dentist can proceed and in this case, the dentist applies directly to the HSE.
Some other treatments may be available to some patients. These include dentures, some gum treatments and more fillings. Your dentist will tell you if these are available for you.
